Data Management & Vendor Operations Intern, Summer 2027

Job Description:

About Jain Global

Jain Global is an innovative multi-strategy investment firm founded in July 2024 by Bobby Jain. With over 400 employees across New York, Houston, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong, we bring together diverse teams to pursue excellence across asset classes and investment styles. We have assembled a unique group of strategy-specific business builders – veteran practitioners that have partnered with our founder to attract world class talent and create a competitive edge in each business.

Role Overview

This internship sits at the intersection of AI, data, and investment performance. Jain Global’s Vendor Management team is responsible for getting alpha-generating data into the hands of investment professionals — quickly, accurately, and efficiently — and the speed and quality of our processes truly matter.

We are seeking a graduate-level intern to help design and implement AI-enabled automation that streamlines data sourcing, procurement, and vendor management. This is a business-process-first role, not a deep coding position, with a focus on improving how work gets done across critical data and vendor operations.

Your work will help free up senior resources, reduce costs, and enable the firm to move faster on high-impact data decisions. This is not a back-office internship — your contributions will directly support investment decision-making and help Jain Global find and exploit differentiated data more effectively.

Responsibilities

• Map and help redesign end-to-end workflows across sourcing, procurement, and data management functions
• Help reduce manual effort, cycle time, and complexity across critical operations
• Help automate invoice processing, validation, and anomaly detection
• Analyze vendor usage and cost data to identify optimization opportunities
• Build LLM-powered workflows to read contracts, emails, and vendor documents and automatically extract key terms

Qualifications & Skills

• Current graduate student (MBA, MS, MFE, Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or similar)
• Strong process and systems thinker — you like fixing how work gets done
• Demonstrated interest in applied AI, especially automation, LLMs, or intelligent workflows
• Comfortable working with data conceptually (usage, costs, quality), even if you’re not a heavy coder
• Nice to have: Exposure to SQL, Python, low-code tools, procurement, or financial services.
• Clear communicator who enjoys working across business and technical teams
• Ability to collaborate in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Skills You’ll Leave With

• Understanding of how institutional investment firms source and manage data
• Hands-on exposure to vendor economics, contracts, and cost optimization
• Process design skills focused on speed, leverage, and scalability
• Practical experience applying LLMs to real enterprise workflows
• Experience delivering automation that’s actually used — not theoretical

Why Join Jain Global

• Mentorship: Work directly with senior investors and researchers in quantitative trading.
• Ownership: Lead meaningful projects and drive innovation in a collaborative, entrepreneurial setting.
• Exposure: Gain insight into a multi-strategy investment model and the inner workings of systematic trading.
• Impact: Develop solutions that influence real investment decisions across asset classes.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: Join a culture that encourages creativity, independent thinking, and the pursuit of innovative ideas.
• Global Reach: Collaborate with teams across New York, Houston, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
• Career Path: Potential for full-time opportunities upon successful completion of the internship
