How these numbers are made

Counting unit: a posting is one role. Repeat requisitions from the same employer with the same title and the same location (city, state or province, country, and remote or not) count once, using the newest one. Open, de-duplicated postings tagged Engineering (a posting can be in several fields). Skills use the same vocabulary and match rules as the skill pages. “Prior internship or co-op experience” counts descriptions that mention it, such as “previous internship experience”, “at least one prior co-op”, “internship experience preferred” or “coursework or prior internships”. The wording rarely says whether it's required, so this is not a count of hard requirements. Pay scales (“pay is commensurate with prior co-op terms”) don't count. “Mention a GPA” counts “GPA” or “grade point average” anywhere in the description, minimum or not. Visa stance is classified from each description (CPT/OPT welcome or sponsorship offered, no sponsorship, or not mentioned). Any figure based on fewer than 30 postings is left out.
